"Lament" / "One Lone Gargoyle"
To the song "One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)" by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter,
Lyrics by Thomas F. Revor, Jr.
Listen, sister, to this tale
that began so long ago.
'Twas a castle, christened Wyvern,
A dire fate of which you'll know.
Side by side, some humans did live,
allied with a gargoyle clan,
And a peace did reign through the
castle and across its land.
Go ahead and kill the humans
Go ahead and hate your kin.
Do it in the name of justice,
You've justified it all within.
Everyone has been against you
Since that tragic day.
On that bloody evening after,
One lone gargoyle glides away.
But then, one day. Vikings did come,
Stopped by clan and Wyvern's gate.
But in your heart was betrayal,
"Leave the humans to their fate."
To your leader, you did beg him,
"Take you with us by your side"
But alone they did go off, so
to that cavern you did hide.
Go ahead and kill the humans
Go ahead and hate your kin.
Do it in the name of justice,
You've justified it all within.
Everyone has been against you
Since that tragic day.
On that bloody evening after,
One lone gargoyle glides away.
Then the Vikings, in their fury
smashed your brethren, killed your friends.
And thus Castle Wyvern did fall,
its story came to its end.
Through the ages you did live on,
the blood you spilled you ne'er did rue.
But gnawing inside, it did haunt you:
it occurred because of you.
Go ahead and kill the humans
Go ahead and hate your kin.
Do it in the name of justice,
You've justified it all within.
Everyone has been against you
Since that tragic day.
On that bloody evening after,
One lone gargoyle glides away.
